Let’s explore one of the “forgotten” elements in art: TEXTURE, or the appearance of texture, with frottage, which is a fancy-pants name for a rubbing made from any uneven or patterned surface. Beloved by kindergarteners and the Surrealists alike!
Using dry materials (like colored pencils, crayons, graphite) and glue, we will create various flat textures to collage together onto paper. We’ll rub, tear, play with pattern, cut and combine to create something original out of oddments. Suitable for folks seeking a creative night out, and for artists into collaging, textures or play. Feel free to bring your own scissors and any colored or textured paper that you love. Otherwise bring your sense of fun and adventure for an evening of artmaking!
